Shopping for Grace

Okay, so we decide to go shopping on Sunday. Our mission? Something for Grace. Our first stop was Kohl's and they had some of the cutest, most girly baby clothes on sale. I picked out an outfit, Tom picked out an outfit, and I picked out another...and another...and another, and then the strangest thing happened - I put them all back! All of a sudden I was overcome by this fear that if we bought these clothes, our adoption would be jinxed as all of our pregnancies had been (I still remember the anguish of returning the adorable little ducky socks!). We then leave Kohl's after purchasing navy blue socks for Tom...what a bummer. After making a few more stops to "just look" at baby bedding, cribs, furniture, etc., we made two "safe" purchases (I don't know why these purchases were safe and the other clothes weren't). I selected the most adorable, itty bitty ribbon hair clips for Grace. Tom, well he chose an Ohio State sleeper! Those of you who know Tom will understand why this is no great surprise! It will be a long while before Grace fits into the sleeper since it's a size 24 months and she will be in 6-9 month clothing when she comes home.
Now, onto the paper chase...we were approved to begin our homestudy and sent in yet more paperwork and money to the homestudy agency and our adoption agency. Next steps: Attend adoption workshops with our homestudy agency and actually begin gathering documents for our dossier!

((hugs)) It WILL happen. You will get Grace. She is destined to be with you, and nothing can seperate you now.
I love the bows. I've been looking for some. Guess I'll have to go to Kohl's.
Karen...Thank you for the encouraging words. My arms ache to hold my baby. I love her so much.
Hi Shannon...I'm so happy to see that you're viewing our blog! I can't wait for you to hold Gracie, too!
