Welcome to Margaritaville!

Last night we decided to have a party...just the two of us and the dogs, of course. We kicked off the festivities by making Tom's Macho Nachos, which consist of chips, beef, black beans, corn, lotsa cheese, salsa and sour cream. We nibbled on this yummy mess of food while we watched an hour of Everybody Loves Raymond reruns. Who doesn't love that Barone family?

I've had this recipe for Orange Creamsicle Margaritas sitting in my recipe file for over a year now, and it was high time to make it. Here's the recipe for my blog buddy,
Jacquie, and anyone else who would like it (the picture was taken last summer at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach):

1 1/4 oz. Gold Tequila
3 oz. Orange Juice
1 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
1 Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
6 oz. Crushed Ice

Blend all ingredients until slushy. Keep in mind that this recipe is for one margarita. We altered the recipe by adding a touch more tequila and used a combination of orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream. It was like a margarita milk shake. Yummmmm...

So, while listening to 80's music and sipping that frozen concoction that helps me hang on, I got my groove on. Tom insists that I have absolutely no rythm but what does he know anyhow. The dogs seemed to enjoy my moves and even danced along! At this point, I'm feeling a little tipsy. Those of you who know me, know that I'm a very silly drunk and it only takes one drink to get me this way (or 1/2 of a Mike's Hard Lemonade) which is why I just don't bother drinking. Now it's time to play cards. I never beat Tom at rummy, but last night I just didn't care. I gave him a run for his money, but after three hands of cards, it was time for this lush to go to bed. After all, it was 9:00 on a Friday night and it was time for "What Not to Wear"!

I know, I know, this has absolutely nothing to do with adoption, but it was a good time while it lasted.
