Adoption-Related Injury!

Yes, I have been injured and it's directly related to the adoption process. No, it's not a papercut from the mass quantities of paper we've processed. I've hurt my foot. I've been experiencing severe pain in the ball of my foot since last Monday when we went to our fingerprinting appointment. The pain has gotten progressively worse even after staying off my feet the entire weekend so I figured I had better go to the Doctor. Thankfully, I don't have a fracture, but I do have a torn tendon. Ouch.

A word of advice to those of you who will fingerprinted at the Cleveland CIS office or any other office in a metropolitan city: wear comfortable shoes! Do NOT do what I did and wear cute, dressy shoes just because it's a work day. The walk is long and comfort is key.

Speaking of cute shoes, they gave me an absolutely beautiful walking-cast shoe at the Doctor's today. I'm actually relieved that it's a bit too big and totally unconfortable, that way I won't have to wear it. I promised to wear comfy New Balance's until I'm healed which could be another week.

And you know, it's hell to get old. I used to be able to wear cute and totally impractical shoes daily. Not anymore. I think my next investment needs to be in old-lady footwear.

Try Dansko shoes! That's all I wear now-a-days! Hope your foot feels better soon!

I'll look into the Dansko shoes, Tiffany. Thanks!

You know Jac, the number of things we have in common is staggering! Are we long, lost sisters? I hope your foot's okay.
