Over-Protective
That's us. We're over-protective dog parents. When we put Lucy to bed Saturday night (she sleeps in her crate) she was a happy, tail-wagging puppy. When we let her out Sunday morning, she was despondent and out of it and wouldn't eat or drink. All day Sunday she just wasn't herself and we were getting really worried so we let her sleep in bed with us (two people + two dogs in a queen-size bed = mucho comfort). There was no change when she woke up this morning so Tom took her to the vet. The doctor couldn't find anything wrong, so she did the typical $200 blood work-up "just in case...". Not a problem...anything for our kids. The vet is thinking that she may have had an epileptic seizure during her sleep Saturday night and that is what is affecting her this way (did you know that seizures are common in dogs while sleeping? We didn't either). Well, wouldn't you know, when I got home this afternoon, LuLu is on her way back to being her old self. Thank goodness.
Tom and I came to the agreement that we cannot take Grace to the Doctor everytime she is in a funk. Obviously if we think there could be something wrong, we will take her. But if we get paranoid with her like we do with Casey and Lucy, we will be on the pediatrician's P.I.T.A list (you know...pain in the a$$). That's not a good place to be.
So anyway, if you could please keep your fingers crossed that LuLu's blood work comes out okay, we'd appreciate it. While you've got those fingers crossed, could you please hope that our fingerprinting invitation comes soon? Please?
