I Dream of Gracie

I experienced my first dream about Grace last night. My dream played out like a beautiful, short, black-and-white movie. In the opening scene, we received Grace's referral and learned that she was about to turn 2 years old on May 18th, which happened to be the day after we received 'the call'. We were so incredibly happy but yet so very sad that we would be missing not only her first, but her second birthday. So, we celebrated Gracie's birthday with our families and friends. At this point, my dream fast-forwards about 2 years into Grace's life. I saw her laughing and running, her long dark hair flowing behind her. As she turned to look back at me, I noticed that she was wearing glasses. She had a certain 'light' about her and she was absolutely lovely and obviously a very happy child. In my dream, I remember feeling relieved that she was so well-adjusted and happy, meaning that we must have been doing something right in our parenting.

I am writing this post with a huge lump in my throat, choking back the tears. I have seen a glimpse of my daughter and that makes me want her that much more. I cannot even describe how much closer I feel to her because of a simple dream...a dream I wish I could replay when ever I'm missing her so much it hurts.

Wow Kim! I wonder if this means you'll be seeing her sooner rather than later? I hope so!

I'm sorry....I've been there and know how this feels. You want her now more than ever. Dreams are great tho - as they make you feel that much closer. We need anything we can hold on to at this point!!

Such a nice dream. Makes you want to rush to bed every night, just to see if she pays you a visit, right? :-)
