Grace's First Set of Wheels
A couple of months ago, we made a trip to Babies-R-Us to check out all of the baby necessities and to choose what items we want when it comes time to start buying. We test-drove a lot of strollers to see which was most comfortable for both us and hopefully Grace, and the one we decided on was the Evenflo Ellipsa, priced at $200.
While at retail-meca (Target) Sunday night, we perused the baby department...of course. We were walking by the strollers and I saw an Evenflo Ellipsa on display. Tom scanned the price and it came up at $49, so he promptly went over to the red phone and called for someone to see if they had anymore in stock since there were none on the shelf. Well, of course not. They won't be getting any more in because they are on clearance (replaced by the new color that we saw at B-R-U). We offered to buy the one on display but they wouldn't sell it to us because they claim that people steal parts off of the already assembled strollers and therefore, they are not safe. Okay, fair enough. So, we went up front to Guest Services where the helpful young lady looked in the computer to see if any other stores had one. Yes, the Rolling Acres store, which is about an hour away, has one left. So she called Rolling Acres and someone supposedly went to look for our stoller, which of course they couldn't find.
Since the Rolling Acres store is very close to Tom's parents, we sent them on a mission to Tarjay to find said stroller. BINGO...they found it! What a bargain...a $200 stroller for $50! I'm giddy! Gracie's got her first ride!
Adoption Update - Our Dossier made it to CCAI and is now in line for "critical review". Please, please, PLEASE don't let us fail this test!!!

Yay on the stroller! I just experienced sticker shock when I found the one I want for a cool almost $300. Don't know if it's any good but I liked the colors! You got yourself a deal!
And double yay on the dossier! Hey, if we could pass anybody can pass!
Hey congrats on that amazing deal! Wow. If you find one in CA, you have to email me immediately! *grin*
And congrats also on the dossier to CCAI. Very exciting. Ours went through them pretty smoothly I think. Don't remember any major hitches. (Shoot - it was nothing compared to the USCIS).
Wow congrats on making it to critical review! It's almost on its way!
Congrats on the great bargain, you got a deal. As long as there is nothing missing from what you sent to CCAI, you will be dtc faster than you think. Within a week of receiving our paperwork, CCAI reviewed it, translated it and had it in China.
Congrats on being in critical review. Wow! You are almost DTC and that is so exciting.
And a $50 bargain to boot? You need to celebrate this weekend!
